Across Country Quad Bikes is a locally owned and operated business. Seeing a need for different activities and ways to view and explore Franz Josef and its stunning scenery, Marcel and Wendy Fekkes teamed up with Tim and Vanessa Gibb to form Alpine Tourism Ventures Ltd. Across Country Quad Bikes is their first project and has been a rewarding challenge...

Marcel and Wendy have a huge amount of customer service and service industry knowledge. They bring a wealth of experience gained in Europe and New Zealand to the business.

Tim and Vanessa bring local knowledge and practical experience. This is an asset that cannot be bought and has been the backbone of setting up here in Franz Josef. We are proud of their association with one of the oldest pioneering family names on the West Coast. Open any history book of the area and you will find the Gibb family. They were among the first to settle here and have been woven into the history and shaping of the area forever.

Over 2005 they put a huge amount of effort into creating the trails with many days spent on diggers and shovels as they made the main tracks. By October 2005 they were ready to offer quad biking adventures.

With Hollie Tang-Wilkinson as operations manager they have enjoyed taking people on this exciting, scenic trip. Like the travellers that arrive here from all parts of the world, we reflect the many cultures in our business with Kiwis, English, Chinese, Australian, Swedes and the Dutch among our owners and staff. We know this place is special and look forward to personally showing it to you.
